Week 5 | Choosing the perfect color scheme

While you are in the process of finding the perfect venue to host your wedding celebrations, it’s time to start thinking about color palettes.
YES, sometimes the venue will play a big part in the color decision, however, let’s explore what you like and don’t like!
Before you go crazy on Pinterest or Instagram, there are a few things to consider:
- Do you want to work with “seasonal colors” – like softer shades for the spring and richer shades for the fall?
- Do you have a favorite color that you have always wanted to incorporate into your wedding?
- Do you know what color you want to wear or have the bridesmaids wear for the wedding?
Those questions will help get you thinking about colors from a different perspective.
Remember, there is no right or wrong answer.

Don’t worry about what color is trending or what everyone else is doing – it’s your wedding and you have to love the color palette!
When selecting colors, think of them like this:
- Monochromatic colors are tints, tones and shades of a single hue.
- Analogous colors are a group of 3 colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.
- Complementary colors are comprised of two colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel.
