Week 13 | 10-12 months prior to wedding day

Hello Beautiful!

It’s time to taste some food! Getting the food right for your wedding is important, and so is hiring the right caterer.

What better way to evaluate your choices than actually tasting the food before event day?

DesiWeds Insights:
Although, you may want several opinions, we suggest you keep the meeting small.  The more people attending the tastings, the harder it is to get consensus.  Plan on only inviting both sets of parents.

When working with Indian caterers, start by tasting the main course selections. Especially, if you are looking at multiple caterers. The main course will determine the caterer you hire.

ACTION ITEMS

  1. Schedule the tastings, ideally for a late lunch or early dinner.
  2. Understand that there usually are a lot of dishes to try so come hungry.
  3. If you don’t have a Wedding Consultant, print out multiple copies of our handy Tasting Worksheet  for everyone and fill it out as you are trying the dishes so that the comments are fresh on everyone’s minds.
  4. Try each dish individually, not as if you were having a meal, and comment on them
  5. Keep track of your favorites using the template
  6. Ask the caterer if you book with them, if there are additional fees for anything.  Most caterers include chafing dishes and serving spoons while charging for staff.  You want to be aware of these before committing.
