WEDDING ITINERARY

Hello beautiful!

Let’s talk timelines.

You both have done a fantastic job of securing all your wedding professionals and now you can hopefully start to see it all coming together for you.  To ensure that wedding day is seamless, you’ll need to create a day-of timeline.

If you have a full service wedding planner then ask them for help with this.  If you have a day of wedding planner, sometimes they expect you to give them a timeline to follow.

Here are things for you to consider when building your timeline:

  • Begin the to schedule with the time you need to wake up.
    • Usually for brides this means a quick shower (hair to have been washed the night or two before so that it’s “dirty” for your hair stylist), and allot time for your bridesmaids to begin their hair and makeup.
  • Please don’t forget to EAT and stay hydrated – it’s smart to put eating on the itinerary so that someone reminds you to do this on event day 🙂
  • Include details about when wedding professionals are to arrive so that expectations are clearly set when you discuss the schedule with each during your final meetings.
  • Incorporate who is responsible for things such as:
    • Your cousin is going to pick up breakfast for the house
    • Your dad will have the suitcase of things needed for the ceremony and give to the priest).

MARRIAGE LICENSE

There is one important thing you have to get done before you head down the aisle.

  • You must get your marriage license before we can officially get you married.  State requirements and cost vary, so check your county clerk’s website for details.
  • You must get your marriage license in the state where the wedding will take place.

DesiWeds Insight:

Name someone responsible on wedding day to get the license signed by your priest and return it back to you to mail it in.

ACTION ITEMS

  • Pull out and read all contracts so you know the details like number of hours included in your package, final payments due, setup times, etc.
  • Confirm with each vendor how long things will take such as;
    • call your Hair and MU artists and ask them how long to allot for each styling
    • ask the caterer and decorator how much time they need for setups
    • Include some buffer time in the schedule, you are working with humans not robots, things will happen so plan for surprises
  • Now that you have timelines in place, you can book your wedding day transportation (limos, party buses, etc)

Things are starting to feel VERY real…how excited are you?!
