WEDDING ITINERARY

Hello Beautiful!

You have both done a fantastic job of securing all your wedding professionals, and now you can hopefully start to see how it will all come together on event day.

To ensure that your day runs seamlessly, you’ll need to create a timeline for day-of.  If you have a full-service wedding consultant – ask for their help with this.  If you have a day of planner – sometimes they expect you to provide this for them to follow.

Here are things for you to consider:

  • Begin the day with the time you need to wake up. Usually for brides, this includes a quick shower (hair to have been washed a night or two before so that it’s “dirty” for your hair stylist) and then time set aside for your bridesmaids to begin hair and makeup.
  • Remind yourself to EAT and stay hydrated – it’s nice to put it in the itinerary so that you remember to do this on event day 🙂
  • Include details about when wedding professionals are to arrive, so that when you review final details with them, the expectations are clearly set.
  • Incorporate who is responsible for tasks and items such as;
    • Your cousin is going to pick up breakfast for the house, or
    • Your dad will have the suitcase of ceremony items to give the priest

MARRIAGE LICENSE

There is one more important thing you have to get done before you head down the aisle.

Before we can officially send you off to get married, you’ll need to get your marriage license.  State requirements and costs vary, so check your county clerk’s website for details.

DesiWeds Insight:
Your marriage license must be requested in the state where the wedding will take place. Be sure to plan accordingly.

Assign someone to be responsible on wedding day to have your priest sign the license and return it to you. In some states, the church or officiant will take on the responsibility of mailing the license back to the county clerk.

ACTION ITEMS

  • Pull out all contracts so you have details like number of hours included in your package, start/end times, etc.
  • Confirm with each vendor how long things will take such as;
    • call your Hair and MU artists and ask them how long to allot for each styling
    • ask the caterer and decorator how much time they need for setups
  • Include some buffer time in the schedule, you are working with humans not robots, things will happen so plan for surprises
  • Now that you have timelines in place, you can book your wedding day transportation (limos, party buses, etc)

Things are starting to feel VERY real…how excited are you?!
