Hello Beautiful!

Let’s get everyone on the same page

We are nearing the end of your wedding planning road.  While I hope you have enjoyed getting our weekly reminders, I’m sure you are ready to be done with it! I’m not the least bit offended. 🙂

The upcoming set of meetings are likely the most important that you will have with your wedding professionals.  Get prepared because you have lots of details to finalize before you go into these meetings.

While we are still in the midst of COVID-19, take a moment to review updates on our resources page before you begin finalizing logistics. Be sure you have considered every precaution necessary before wedding day.

List of vendor discussion points:

1. Final guest count

  • Your guest list may still fluctuate, however, it is critical to have a final number 1-month before the wedding. Then add 10% overage to that number to account for last-minute guests who didn’t RSVP.

2. Final room layout

  • Create a layout of the space. Decide where dinner tables will be placed, size of stage and dance floor, where the DJ will be, cake, etc. Your venue contact should be able to create this for you.
  • Check out this post for more details.

3. Confirm timeline

  • Create your wedding day timeline so that everyone knows and agrees on the expectations.
  • DesiWeds Insights:
    • Your decorator should be finished with setups a minimum of 1-hour before your cocktail hour begins to avoid any delays.
    • Your caterer should be ready with the bulk of food in chafing dishes 30-minutes prior to cocktail hour – understanding that some items need to be served at the last minute to maintain quality.

4. Confirm the final catering and decor orders to ensure nothing got lost in communication over the past few months.

  • DesiWeds Insight:
    • Meet with the decorator, catering and venue together, if possible, at the venue to walk the space and go over all details.
